Areej Le Doré, Siberian Musk

7.8 / 10 2026-05-01

Siberian Musk opens with a bracing slap of citrus – bergamot, lime, mandarin – sharpened by a distinctly smoky Siberian pine. It’s a compelling, almost challenging, introduction, hinting at the animalic depths to come. While the initial burst is invigorating, the promised exotic fruits and citruses fade quickly, ceding the stage to the namesake ingredient.

The dry down is where Siberian Musk truly reveals its character: a potent, natural musk accord, tempered by orange blossom and a creamy sandalwood. Galbanum adds a touch of green bitterness, preventing the composition from becoming overly sweet or powdery. Think less “clean laundry” musk and more “untamed wilderness,” albeit one wearing a finely tailored suit. Its kinship with the later Russian Musk is undeniable, though Siberian Musk feels just a touch more rugged.

Projection and longevity are both above average. While it maintains a noticeable presence for a good 5+ hours, radiating a subtle aura, it eventually settles closer to the skin. Given its apparent discontinuation, securing a bottle feels like uncovering a near-mythical artifact of the house.

Verdict: Siberian Musk is a bold, masculine fragrance that demands attention. It’s a well-blended animalic-spicy composition that delivers on its promise of potent musk and impressive performance. If you can find a bottle (good luck!), it’s a worthy addition to any serious collector’s library, but be prepared for a scent that doesn’t whisper, it roars (albeit a refined roar).
